GEORGIE FAME/HALL OF FAME SX 6120 (-67) UK MONO

Compilation issued by Columbia label after he left for CBS 1967. It has seven A-sides and one B-side previously UK non-LP, three tracks from the 1964 "Fame At Last" album, two from "Sweet Things" and one from "Sound Venture". Most of the UK non-LP cuts did show up in some form on US albums and if you collect singles there may be less need for it, but to me it's essential. All here are from the original mono tapes with the exactly right mid-sixties atmosphere. On eight of the cuts he's backed by The Blue Flames, one by Harry South Big Band and the remaining by studio crews, but it's the same warm and friendly atmosphere and even if most of the numbers are uptempo it remains cool throughout. This is good to me because I get the top notch A-sides just as they were. First issued in mono only. Premiere UK had label as shown here and laminated flip/back cover. (MÖRS*) (FGÖ*)
