THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE/ ELECTRIC LADYLAND - PART 2 613 017 (-69) UK

For more background on this one-LP version also check post on "Part 1" - https://monolover.blogspot.com/2012/06/jimi-hendrixelectric-ladyland-part-1.html . You'd expect the record numbers of the two parts to be adjacent, but for some reason they aren't and according to the seven number difference this seems to have been either planned, manufactured and/or issued a month or so later. Don't have a clue why, just thought worth mentioning. Side one has the same stamped and "corrected" matrix as on the original 2-LP, here with "17" etched above the number. Side two also has the same matrix as the original, but scratched out all together with an etched "613017 B-1" added to the left. To my ears this sounds exactly like the corresponding original - big strong and natural. I've seen opinions they differ a little, but if so I can't hear it. When posting the original I added a link to a page claiming that the version with large Mitchell/Redding pics and blue fonts wasn't the very first, but instead a somewhat later variation emerging from a mix-up with the rear sleeve on this -  http://recordmecca.com/news/jimi-hendrixs-electric-ladyland-exposing-the-blue-type-hype/    Apparently there's a difference of opinion here and I'm not updated enough to choose side once and for all, but it's well worth noticing. Issued on vinyl in a couple of European countries and South Africa, some with alternate tracking and/or sleeve design, also as US 4-track and 8-track. Premiere UK had label as shown here in a fully laminated cover. (JHÄ*) (TRÄC*)
