JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO/HEART PLAY - UNFINISHED DIALOGUE 817238-1 (-83) UK

Whith this I'm split between opposites. On one hand it's a homage to one of the greatest and most successful 20th century composers and performers issued three years after his death, though at the same time just a couple of bad recordings of more or less witty or plain conversations packaged for sale. The phrase "flogging a dead horse" comes to mind, but I think it's a little more than that. Neither Polydor nor Yoko would have expected any big bucks from this, with a little luck the income just about balancing the expense. And non of them needed the extra cash this might have brought. So my belief is it was a token of love from her side, an attempt to keep him in the public eye, and thus more alive, a little longer. It wasn't their first talkie either. "Two Virgins", "Life With The Lions" and "Wedding Album" are all more or less conversational, today seen as iconic by Beatles collectors and originals sold for considerable sums. Don't think this will ever reach the same status, but nevertheless a must for any zealot Beatles or Lennon fan. I listened once and then put it next to "Milk And Honey" on the shelf  https://monolover.blogspot.com/2019/08/john-lennon-yoko-onomilk-and-honey-polh.html  . Won't be picked out a lot in the future, but I like knowing it's there. Issued on LP all over the world at the time, also on cassette in UK, US and Canada, but to my knowledge never on CD. Premiere UK had label as shown here in a fully laminated cover, an insert sheet with Yoko's comments on the conversations and "hometaping is killing music" inner. (BÄ*) (JYZÖ*)
