JETHRO TULL/REPEAT - THE BEST OF JETHRO TULL - VOL II CHR 1135 (-77) UK

A continuation of the 1976 "M.U. - The Best Of Jethro Tull", following the same pattern with one previously unissued cut and a couple of edits made especially for the issue. "Glory Row" had earlier surfaced on the Spanish 1975 version of "Aqualung", but this was the first time on UK LP. A piece recorded during the "War Child" sessions but not included back then. Quite good JT though to my ears not reching up to the overall high standard of that superb album and therefore better left out. Still a nice addition for any band completist. I also get shorter editions of suites from "Minstrel In The Gallery", "Thick As A Brick" and "Passion Play". Probably an unimportant premium for those who own those albums already, yet a good taster for anyone unfamiliar with but curious about the band's artistic whereabouts in the seventies. I truly don't understand why the lovely "Life's A Long Song" wasn't included on any of those two compilations. To my taste that is one of their absolutely best. It did show up on "The Best Of Jethro Tull Vol. III", not released in UK or US. I'll get back to that later. This has been issued and reissued pretty much all over the world on vinyl, cassette and CD through the years. First US on Chrysalis (CHK 1135). Premiere UK had label as shown here in a glossy cover where a repeated embossed album title creates a structure. (YÖHT*)
