A follow up to the two monster compilations "Fill Your Head With Rock" and "Blockbuster" (see earlier posts). Nothing fancy with the wrapping on this - one LP, single unlaminated cover and no inserts - but the choice of tracks is very good. As the two previous it sweeps through the genres, this time with emphasis on psych, prog and blues. Of the sixteen tracks four are from English groups, the rest American. Rare stuff like the ones from Trees, Soft Machine, Ballin'Jack and Dreams are mixed with top numbers by Janis Joplin, Byrds, Santana and Spirit among others. 1971 when this first arrived I was always on a low budget and didn't buy regular LP:s. Compilations like this gave me a chance to get the latest at a low prize and ideas for future quests. Now it's another millenium, but this somehow holds the same position. Classic tracks - in comparison to most of the stuff on the hit lists today it still sounds fresh and groundbreaking. And it's still a bargain, you can easily get it for $15 or less.
