NQB/TWO SIDES OF NQB NSLP 50 (-72) SWEDEN

Swedish all girl rock band. Started 1966 as Quidesty Blaise, a few years later reformed as New Quidesty Blasie. Issued Two LP:s before breakup - this is the first. B-side of the album is from a live gig where they did covers of US rock classics, supported by some guest musicians. It's well played with lots of energy and nice vocals, but still rather ordinary for its time. A-side studio recordings are a lot more interesting with two very good self-penned tracks. "Come On" - an uptempo rocker accompanied by a sharp borderline psych guitar all through - and "Feeling Better" - glam rock with unbridled vocals. There's also one ballad, two perky pop songs and another raunchy rocker. Clearly cut without too many overdubs giving an authentic atmosphere. A fine exemple of female rock'n'roll, tight with lots of good will. Also issued in Italy 1973 as "Rock and Roll with NQB" (Ricordi International SNIR-HM 25047). CD release 1996 coupled this with their second album (Hendrix Music Production NSCD 50/56). First press had label as shown here and thin glossy cover. (SCÄ*)(FÄV*)(ÖGÄ*)(CCÖ*)
