PETER GREEN'S FLEETWOOD MAC UK STEREO S7-63200 VS. MONO 63200
When first posting the mono over two years ago I didn't own a first press UK stereo to compare with, but since I have one now I though it would be fun to collate - mimicking a fold by using the mono button on the stereo. As far as I can hear there are no alternate versions or takes and even the balance coincides some of the time. Still they don't come out the same way. The stereo is an OK compatible and a fold would have done it, but the mono issue has bigger bass most of the time and sounds denser, darker and softer than a straight on reduction. Don't know if the difference derives from separate mixes or made by some kind of tonal or compressing adjustment. Both sounds good in any case and even if the stereo offers extended width and clarity I feel more at home with the mono. First US on Epic (BN 26402). Premiere UK had structured label as shown here and laminated mono cover with or without stereo sticker. (FXÄC*) (CPYC*) (BLÖH*)(MÅW*)
