Sixties British soul combo that later would transform into hard core psych/prog band Gentle Giant. Even if this See For Miles/Charly album was fifteen years later on a label specializing in reproductions I still see it as an important issue, not only for Gentle Giant completists but also collectors of UK soul having a hard time finding originals. Here's ten out of eleven cuts from the mono issue of the Parlophone "Without Reservations" album - "Teacher Teacher" the only one omitted. Remaining ten were all non-LP - six B-sides and four A-sides having original mixes, including their tour de force "Kites". I like the album tracks better - more adventurous and less commercial than the '45:s. But all are good in their own way and if you want it complete this is a recommended shortcut. 1993 See For Miles re-issues as "Kites" on LP (same number with larger all black label logo) and CD (SEECD 368). The 1982 release had checkered label with semicircle blue dress logo as shown here and glossy cover.
