CREAM/WHEELS OF FIRE 582 031/32 UK MONO VS. 583 031/32 UK STEREO
When posting the UK mono earlier I was puzzled about the handeling of the formats with usage of the Haeco-CSG device ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haeco-CSG ), which created compatible stereos through phase cancellation. And then further confused exactly where and on what it was applied. Wasn't sure if that appeared on the US Wheels Of Fire only, or for some reason also involved the UK mono. Now after comparing two UK originals I can safely say it didn't. One of the things with Haeco was the mono often became slightly "blurred" in comparison to the stereo and therefore less clear with sub-par separation. In this case the mono comes out loud and prefectly clear, while connecting channels on the stereo gives a muddier result. So even if the stereo had Haeco treatment the mono can't be a product of such a fold. Haven't been able to detect any other significant differences between the formats, but it's obvious that however the stereo was created this mono isn't a straight fold...and that's good to know.
