BING CROSBY/ST. VALENTINES DAY DL 5039 (-49) US MONO

From the beginning a 78 rpm album with four records, issued 1947 (Decca A-621). Here transfered to the new LP format two years later. The 10 inch still has the original atmosphere, more than enough to put you in the right mood. It don't have to be evening dress and fancy dinners - candle light, some red wine and this is all you need. There's a special feeling in those old cuts I can't find in the more modern ones. The equipment was primitive so they had to give 100% at each recording. Today it doesn't seem to matter what the artists do in the studio - it can always be adjusted and bettered afterwards. I guess that good in a way, but something gets lost in the process. However advanced the machines are they can't imitate true emotions. (NYFÖ*)(MÖRS*) (YZÄ*) (BCJ*)
