For background check my post on the London album "Favourites". On here are some of the successful tracks they recorded for EMI/Columbia. Apart from a few exemples of their comedy act this has evergreens with heartwarming vocals and elaborated orchestration. The lyrics are about real people and everyday heroes, homaging the ordinary and often giving the richies a quip or two. I don't know why I love it so much. Maybe it's the warm unschooled voices or the beautiful melodies...or the fact I grew up with music like that on the radio...or a combination of those. Anyway it's an escape from the modern music world, a return to simpler times when the songs came straight from the heart, record sales were insignificant and most artists just did what they liked.
