DONOVAN/FAIRYTALE NSPL 18128 (-65) UK EXPORT STEREO
For more on my feelings on the issue itself, check post on the mono. The UK export stereo release of his debute "What's Been Did And What's Been Hid" wasn't even near any kind of stereo, instead an alternative mono - https://monolover.blogspot.com/2016/10/donovanwhats-been-did-and-whats-been.html . Been listening to this follow-up for a while now, trying to determine what kind of animal it is. You get some kind of stereoish outcome, yet without any of the left-right panning common for most period two-channel mixes. And since all input can be heard in both channels simultaneously, only contrasted by volume, it must be tagged as some kind of fake stereo. Not of the kind that hamper the listening, making it less enjoyable, instead coming out pretty pleasant to the ears. So if you already happen to have and love the mono, hoping for something very different, this is not it. But as a first choice a-ok and probably a must for die-hard Donovan fans and/or label collectors anyway. This press came with label as shown here in a laminated flip/back mono cover with Pye ad inner and stereo stickers on front and back (the latter missing on this copy). (TÖW*) (PÖY*) (ÖXÄP*)
