THE BEATLES/YESTERDAY AND TODAY ST 2553 (-66) US STEREO

For more on the issue itself check post on the corresponding US mono - https://monolover.blogspot.com/2019/01/the-beatlesyesterday-and-today-t-2553.html . As an oldtimer European collector for whom the US originals were almost impossible to locate back then I still think this is a very nice find. Let be the early mono mixes of the tracks that later would show up in other shape on the UK "Revolver" - "And Your Bird Can Sing", "Dr. Robert", and "I'm Only Sleeping" - here are some kind of fake stereos since they probably only existed in mono at the time. Those may be regarded as exclusive since later issues of this album has the more common true stereo versions, but the for me the real highlights here are the earliest true stereo mixes of "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out", different from the ones that showed up on the UK "A Collection Of Beatles Oldies But Goldies" six months later and then became the "official" versions. Some may argue that those somewhat later mixes are better and/or more enjoyable listening, but that's not the point. The ones here were first, rarer on vinyl and since it is The Beatles valuable to me regardless of outcome. (YZÄ*) (BÄ*) (LGÅ*)
