THE PLASTIC ONO BAND/LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO 1969 CORE 2001 (-70) UK

Didn't plan to post this. It's been reviewed enough already and I thought the Brazil mono I did on the page a couple of years ago was all I could add to common knowledge. However a while ago a friend showed me a UK copy with the calender he'd just bought and though the calender was original both record and cover were from a later seventies press. So item obviously swapped and he wasn't happy when I told him. There already are places on the net where you can get hints about what constitutes a very first UK "calender" issue, but for those who haven't got there yet - here's a summary. Since the UK issue didn't chart the calender was soon withdrawn and only included in the first press. Check for the darker label plus first matrixes and reasonably early mother/stampers on thicker vinyl. Cover is Garrods & Lofthouse - thin and "floppy" with full heavy lamination and very narrow spine. The calender itself is stapled on glossy paper with crisp letters and images - "Printed by Templering Limited, Mitcham, Surrey".
