PETER GREEN/BLUE GUITAR CRX 5 (-81) UK

A compilation that might fit for fans who for some reason think his solo albums came a little too eclectic and prefer the more bluesy Greeny. Three cuts each from "In The Skies" and "Little Dreamer", two from "Whatcha Gonna Do?", one 45 flip side and one previously unreleased. A mix of up-tempo and very still, all cool with lots of sweet guitars. If it wasn't for his at this time more mature vocals most of it would have blended in perfectly with the softer Fleetwood Mac agenda back in the days together with songs as "Albatross" and "Black Magic Woman". Favorite tracks - the instrumental "Slabo Day" has a breautiful high-flying lead guitar to a more headstrong backing one and the earlier 45 flip side "Woman Don't" with an odd rhythm dislocation making it stick. As a whole very relaxing listening well kept together by track choice and audio. If you're only planning to have one post-Mac Greeny album, this comes recommended. Original vinyl issues in UK, Germany (Creole 6.24979 AO), Greece (Music Box MBOX 40344) and Downunder (Junction Records POW 6039). Japan 1997 CD on Loudwoof (CRCL 4015). Premiere UK had label as shown here and fully laminated cover. (FXÄC*)
