First British R&B album with many pioneers of the English blues scene on stage. Cyril Davies, "Long" John Baldry, Dick Heckstall-Smith and more. US blues took time to catch on here, but through Korner and this club it was spread all over London. Brian Jones used to hang here all the time, sometimes meeting with Jagger and Richards. Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts sometimes sat in and played with the group, but not during this recording. Maybe they're in the audience - who knows? Korners group is not even close to the American originals in feeling, instead very neat and very English. But it is an historic recording in many ways, and rather charming. Issued in mono only.
First US release 1996 on vinyl and CD (Mobile Fidelity B00004ZKS2/B000000IUR) with the original mono tape and one bonus track. First had ridged label as shown here with "Recording first published 1962" and laminated flip/back cover. (LYBÖ*) (FÖGÄ*)
