CLUSTER & ENO SKY 010 (-77) GERMANY

Cluster was a German experimental group, between 1971-2010 releasing twelve studio albums. Started within the krautrock society with music much building on dissonance and industrial themes, but early moving towards electronic pop and more gentle tunes. This album is the first of two from a collaboration with Brian Eno through sessions in legendary producer Conny Plank's Berlin studio (here's the other one https://monolover.blogspot.com/2013/01/eno-moebius-roedeliusafter-heat-sky-021.html  ). All tracks are instrumental and more mood pieces than regular songs - soft and gentle. It's nothing I listen closely to, but a lovely background for deeper thoughts. The synths are prominent, but there's also bass, guitar and piano. I'm not really sure what Eno does or plays, perhaps he's just there as a source for Ambient ideas. About the time this was made David Bowie recorded "Low" and "Heroes" in the same studio. It's obvious he was very inspired by Cluster, Plank and the whole atmosphere, maybe with Eno as a medium. The instrumental B-sides of both those albums sounds a lot like this one and he couldn't have done any of it without Plank's concept. Not originally issued in US or UK. German, French and Portuguese -77 releases with same covers and rec. no:s. Re-issued many times on vinyl and CD. Early German with label as shown here and fully laminated cover. 1. Ha! Eno-Cluster, yay! Your taste is diverse, also overlaps with mine in many instances. I enjoy your one-meaty-paragraph takes on these releases.
