MOTT THE HOOPLE GREATEST HITS S 81225 (-76) UK

The first in a long line compilations from the the groups glam years. Ian Hunter and short time member Mick Ronson had left for Hunters first solo album and the rest of the band reformed as "Mott". This is the best of the CBS period, or at least very close. It has their most poplar '45 tracks and a few odd LP numbers, topped with the groups two last single A-sides - "Foxy Foxy" and "Saturday Gigs" - both excellent and for the first time on 33 rpm. There are many MTH collections out there from this period on LP and CD, some far more extensive and generous with tracks and information. Although this isn't as ample I like it best cause it's the first and have all original takes with very good audio. First US on Columbia (PC 34368), also early issues in Canada, Australia and a number of European countries. Premiere UK with label and number as shown here (re-issues have a 32007 no.) and thin matt cover. (PÖP*)(MÖHÖ*)
