STATUS QUO/SPARE PARTS NPL 18301 (-69) UK MONO

This second album is less psychedelic and a lot more pop orientated than the debute. "Mr Mind Detector" is good psych, but songs like "Velvet Curtains", "Little Miss Nothing" and "Poor Old Man" shows on a more mellow style and the orchestrated ballad "Are You Growing Tired Of My Love", which also became a minor hit, must be their softest and most romantic recording up to date. From the next album they were all blues and boogie, never to look back. This mono sounds all right, but partly a little damp so I guess it's a fold down. Initially issued on vinyl in a couple of European counties, South Africa, Downunder and Canada. Later on spread wider over the world through reissues on vinyl and CD. Premiere UK had label as shown here and thin fully laminated cover. (YMÖ*) (PÖY*) (STÄQ*)
