AL STEWART/LOVE CHRONICLES 63460 (-69) UK MONO

Stewart was a Scottish singer/songwriter early including folk elements, themes from "Lord Of the Rings" and tales of historical events in his music. Played alongside Cat Stevens, Roy Harper and van Morrison in the mid-sixties and was also sometimes backed by Jimmy Page who also assists on a few tracks on this album. The 18 minute title track tells about numbers of sexual encounters he had with different women, the rest of the songs soft introvert comments about things in his life. It was the first UK mainstream album to include the word "f*cking". Melody Maker magazine voted it the folk album of -69. Don't know if this mono is a separate mix or fold down. Sounds good - clear with perfect balance all through - perhaps made from a perfect compatible. Rereased in US with different wrapping on EPIC (BN26564).
