McCulloch was part of The New Animals with Eric Burdon and responsible for "Orange And Red Beams" on the Twain Shall Meet album - to my taste one of the best tracks on it. Here on his solo album he's trying a new version of the song. I'm not very fond of it, not the new song version or the album as a whole. What he did with Burdon was psych, this is pop with orchestral arrangements and almost mainstream. Don't know anything about this mono mix. Sounds good and may be a separate one.
