This UK mono issue is a gem. I have never heard a good stereo version of the album, but this sounds like a dream. Big, bold, clear and with a perfect balance. It wasn't my favorite Zappa LP before, now I listen to it a lot more just because of the audio. Dont know where it comes from though. As far as I know it was never released as stock mono in USA. There are known cases where MGM/Verve UK altered US recordings to fit the English market, making them clearer and more bouncy - maybe this was too. It doesn't show up often, but if you find one - just grab it! First UK with label as shown here and laminated flip/back cover. (ZÄP*)(YMÖ*)
