To my taste the period from Wild Honey up to Holland was their best. Of those six albums this is the one I have a hard time to connect to. The songs aren't bad and the vocals partly heavenly, still it just doesn't get to me. Maybe it's the meditative, almost religious aura, or the fact the only song with hit feeling is the title track. Anyway I don't feel it's up there with the other five. It was the first from the group to be recorded in stereo only and the first with real stereo since 1964. This mono is clearly a fold down from the US tapes. Maybe a little more damp and edgeless than the stereo, but not all bad. First UK with label as shown here and laminated flip/back cover. (BÅB*)
