This first Doors LP is by many regarded as their best, but it's not my favorite. Containing a few all times classics it is one of the best debute albums ever, but as I see it they evolved and did greater things later. My two favs are "Strange Days" (see previous post) and "LA Woman". Everything is fine with this - from artistery to production, but they still had more to gain. The US mixes of this differs a lot, but the biggest divider is the original stereo had a speed fault and comes through somewhat slower than the mono. As far as I can hear this UK issue is made from the US mono tapes and it sounds terrific. First UK with structured label as shown here and fully laminated cover. (DÖÖW*)
