CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN 612005 (-68) UK MONO

After being involved with different settings and types of music, Brown founded the group early -67. Excessive touring and lavish performances created a solid ground for their music and gave them a cult following. This debute album, produced by Kit Lambert and Pete Townshend, sold surprisingly well on both sides of the Atlantic. It also churned out two hit singles - "I Put A Spell On You" and "Fire" - the latter selling over one million copies. Brown was one of the first male artists to wear extreme make-up on stage wich may have inspired later acts as Peter Gabriel and Alice Cooper. This UK mono sounds very legit. I don't think it's a fold, but won't be sure till I find an original stereo to compare with. (TRÄC*)

  1. To my findings, this is 100% "fake" mono (i.e. taken from the stereo).

  2. Comparing the originals makes the mono sound a lot better, with slightly different balance, also stronger than if You just press the mono button. I don't agree with 100% fake, at least boosted or at parts slightly altered.
