MAN/REVELATION NPL 18275 (-69) UK MONO

As "The Bystanders" (formed -62) this Welsh group issued eight pop singles of wich a few surfaced on the lower level of the top list. They were also regulars on a few TV-shows. By -68 they changed musical direction towards psychdelia and progressive music and re-named the band to "Man". Inspired by US groups as Jefferson Airplane and Vanilla Fudge. The debute album has a lot of the American West Coast feeling, but still with a very British stroke. The source is American, but the development and production English - more strict than floating, more firm than dreamy. I like this merging very much - like getting high, but in a very safe environment. I'm not sure about the mono. Pye records did release separate mixes this late and it sounds like the real thing. The recording is rather complicated at parts, so a plain fold down would probably end badly - and this is tops all over. First UK had label as shown here and laminated flip back cover. (YMÖ*) (PÖY*)
