IMO one of the best UK sixties groups. Slightly odd arrangements of self-penned compositions or rock/blues covers together with Colin Blunstones intimate vocals gave them their very own charcter, one that's still appealing today. At the time not very popular in Britain - "She's Not There" reached #12 on the UK chart and that's about it. They did better in US with four songs on top 100 and three just under. The US version of the album (Parrot PA 61001), called "The Zombies", came with other cover and tracking and halted at #39 on Billboard, while this didn't chart at all in UK. Only a mono mix was made. It sounds as good as the best UK sixties monos and that's all you need. All stereo versions from these recordings are fake. First with ridged label as shown here and laminated cover. (ZÖZ*)
