BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD AGAIN 587091(-68) UK MONO
To my ears their best effort. Most track on this are winners, "Rock'n'Roll Woman" and "Mr. Soul" true classics. The mix of the latter here makes it the rudest version ever, it almost climbs out of the speakers. All over very big and bouncy, as is the US original mono. This UK issue is with all certainty using the US tapes. (Thank You Prof. Stoned for helping me confirm that. I have not heard this UK press, but there's an easy way to check if it's the dedicated US mono mix: Hung Upside Down has one guitar playing one solo during the middle part in mono, while in stereo there is a 2nd guitar playing a different solo simultaneously with the other one. This sounds somewhat peculiar in stereo, as if the 2nd solo was mixed in by accident.
SvaraRaderaIt's definitely only one guitar playing solo here so I guess this is the one. May also add that, apart from sounding good all the way, this is loud and bold and has a prominent base om many tracks. It must been 20 years since I heard the US mono, but I seem to remember that was a little more even.
SvaraRaderaGood to know. There's a nice clean transfer on my blog, should you wanna hear it again. The US has a quite thick sounding low-end as well.
SvaraRaderaThanks! I will check it out.

SvaraRaderaThe same *mixes*, but the UK LP is almost certainly cut from a copy tape made for the UK. Probably not a big deal, but likely not cut from the US master tape.
Thanks Luke for sorting that out.
RaderaYou're probably right it's a copy tape. Didn't think about that, just eager to point out it was the same mixes.
