BAND/MUSIC FROM BIG PINK T 2955 (-68) UK MONO

One of the most hyped sixties album. Although hailed by artists as Eric Clapton and George Harrison at the time it wasn't immediate success - reached #30 on Billboard while "The Weight" halted at #63 - but today you can find it on about every list with greatest or most influential albums. To me it's a problem. I would love to love it more, but I just don't think it's that great. Peel off the Dylan context and legends surronding it and you end up with a rather ordinary country/folk/rock LP. I dig "Chest Fever", Tears Of Rage" and "The Weight" and that's about it. I do like this mono - balanced, big and clear with prominent base. I don't know of any US mono - stock or promo - so either it was made from a perfect compatible or altered in some way for the UK issue. First press with label as shown here and laminated flip/back cover.
