JON ISHERWOOD/A LAUGHING CRY LK 5051 (-70) UK MONO

Little is known about this guy. He made a single for Parlophone -69 and this Decca LP 1970. I've been searching the net for more, but can't find anything. From the notes on back cover here you can find out he was a friend of the Lennons late sixties, pot-smoker and a mad-cap. The music is singer/songwriter "music hall" style, mental in a very traditional English way. What stands out is the homage to Yoko Ono - "OK Yoko" - as not many of these were made at this time. The lyrics of the song is more or less "Ballad Of John And Yoko" from a bystanders point of veiw. The mono comes through beautifully, strong and nice. Good Listen! (UKÖ*)(YMÖ*)(MÖRS*)(SYSÖ*)
